A peaceful forest and a heaven for all the nature enthusiasts, situated about 18 kms from Ramnagar, near Jim Corbett Park.
Sitabani Forest Reserve is a popular tourist spot because of its citation in Ramayana. It is said that goddess Sita, wife of Lord Rama, used to spend some of the days of her exile here, in the forest.
The forest is remains closed during the monsoon season and there are no limit or restriction to vehicles entering the forest.
The forest is also known for its rich flora and fauna with over 600 species of trees, herbs, shrubs and more. It is a natural habitat for Barking Deer’s, King Cobra’s, Sambars, Porcupines and more.
The place is pure bliss and a must visit for bird watchers and nature lovers.
